Need help with Yamaha Grizzly 450
#1
Hi I'm new to the forum and would like some help. I have a 2007 Yamaha Grizzly 450 (YFM45FGW).
First I need to change the oil. The dealership wants to charge me $100 to do this ($80 for labor, $20 for oil and filter). This can't be that hard to do is it?
Secondly, I have a digital speedometer display and it is stuck at zero. Whenever I hit the gas the reverse light just blinks. The dealership also wants $90 just to diagnose the problem. I've done some research online and see where some people say it could be the speed indicator sensor and that there might be a wire loose. Does anyone have any advice or maybe a repair manual in pdf format? I don't want to spend a couple hundred dollars on these two problems.
Thanks in advance for any help someone might be able to give me.

I am not that familiar with the 450's but the guys at Yamaha Grizzly ATV Forum are and they can give you a hand!

My friend has a 660 grizzly and is not very mechanical adept and he changes his oil faster then it would take to load the atv on his trailer and tie it down, let alone haul it down to a dealership then unload it and then have to pick it up in a day or two and haul it back.
If the dealership told me they would change the oil for free it still would not be worth the time and effort.

I have 05 kodiak 450 which is the same because yamaha changed kodiak to grizzly as far as I know.Changing oil is easy.Buy motorcycle oil and oil filter .Cost around $25-$30 and go to the automotive store and buy oil filter wrench that you connect to a 3/8 ratchet that goes on the end of filter.Take off skid plate under atv so you get to oil drain plug and grease zerk on front and rear drive shafts, also on rear axles behind tires.
