1988 yamaha warrior 350

my warrior will start but once it starts it will rev up then backfire and die, it had a hole in the intake manafold, but i covered it good, and it stil does the same,,,,is it the carb???

and how do you adjust the jets?

sounds like eather still have bad air leak id clean the carb and get that boot replaced
