i don't like my raptor, my ds650 is by far a better ride all around. other than a forsale sign what can i do to make it better than my ds. and i want to keep equal dallor amounts in each quad, will the raptor ever be as good?

If you would like responses....why not specify what you don't like about the Raptor?

Id say just buy an exhaust and jet kit, new tires, and an aluminum skid and you couldnt be happier. Unless you think its narrow. But then you can get some small offset wheels and an axle fairly cheap also.

Jimmie,

I thought on the Bombardier forum, you all but said that your Raptor sucked. If that's the way you feel, why not sell it and buy your wife a DS (I think you had the ds for you and raptor for your wife).

If you really are wanting to keep the Raptor and fix it up with comparable money spent on both, let us know what you have done and invested in your DS.

For stability, go with an extended axle. If you're looking for more power, figure on opening up the exhaust and airbox.

The reason that I've held off on the power mods is because I don't think we've really saw the aftermarket companines tap into the Raptor's potential. There are already companies claiming exhaust and airbox mods attaining right at 50 HP. Imagine what kind of HP they will be reaching in the next few months when they get to porting, using high-compression pistons and radical cams.

I think you must have just posted this to get a flame or two, but.....

Yes, that's what I would do as well, have $10,000+ wrapped up in a quad that I ride recreationally and still have to hop off and pull backwards when I could have had a reverse gear.

I'm only a state away, I know if you are really doing tight trail riding that you could use reverse every now and then.

Before I did the big bore, I'd go the way of Scooby and order a turbocharger system. Nope, skip that, if I wasn't going to have reverse, and needed that much power, I'd go with a low boost (for reliable service) turbocharged Banshee. 350cc and it'd still smoke a big bore DS or anything other atv out there.

Angel,

YIKES!!! Jimmie isn't going to be very happy with you telling the truth on here!

So does he really run off and hide from you with the mighty DS? If so, did he before it became a "money pit"?
