Wolverine 350 Exhaust options
#1
I'm looking at replacing the stock exhaust on my 02 Wolverine - the existing one is deteriorating, still not too bad, but will need to go in a little while. I'm not looking for any performance boost or something that's going to make my machine sound like a dozen chain saws. I'd be happy to put another stock exhaust on but they're way overpriced. If I can avoid it, I'd rather not re-jet. Also, for me, the quieter the exhaust, the better.
Any ideas? I researched Cobra exhausts. They seem reasonably priced. Would I have to re-jet with one of those?
Anybody got any input?
Thanks

in my experience, Cobra is a cheaply made product, and it is not quiet.
If you want stock, have you looked at craigslist/ebay to see if anyone is getting rid of their old system for cheap?
Most, if not all, aftermarket mufflers are performance mufflers. Whether they will scavenge enough exhaust to lean out the fuel mix by themselves is questionable.
In my experience, HMF and Supertrapp have made very good products. The 'trapp is adjustable by the number of discs you install. The HMF will need the "quiet core" insert if you don't want to wake the dead.

Thanks for the input texasroadlawyer - appreciated. Maybe staying with a stock pipe is the way for me to go. I'm regularly scanning e-bay for a used stocker - I haven't tried craigslist. I'll give it a shot.
