Too Easy - in regards to the Owners manual you can get that directly from Yamaha's site for Free!

Linky to PDF of Manual: http://www.yamaha-motor.com/assets/s...-18-35_972.pdf

And if you want the service manual -- you just need to email me - that's right Me! haha -- snowwmax@yahoo.com

Make sure you put something useful in the subject like "05 Kodiak 450 manual" otherwise Yahoo will send it to SPam and I will never get it

p.s. Welcome to the Thread! The Kodiak 450 is a great quad! I love mine - well except for the slight transmission mishap last summer..

buy some seafoam and run in the gas, 1 oz per gallon will keep gas good and carb clean, turn the gas valve off when machine is not in use , will keep the needle and seat from wearing out in the carb

Seafoam not a bad idea... but one better is using that Blu-Stabil for Ethanol and Marine engines during the riding season - I put in 1 oz per tank and when I feel like it

Please do not waste your time nor money on Red Stabil when you store you quad for a long period of time. Store the machine DRY!

During the winter from my Quad I fog the engine until it quits, pull the plug - spray some more fog oil in there - turn it over a few times, a few more squirts and the plug goes back in. I then turn the gas to Off and drain the bottom of the carb. Then I pull the tank to unsure can I get all the gas out - put that gas in my Truck and then put the tank back on.

I have been storing my quad like this since new (Oct 2006) and my Sled Since new to me (April 2005) and neither carb has been rebuilt, nor adjusted

I just bought a 2006 Yamaha Kodiak 450 this past weekend with 330 miles on it. I'm going to put a 60" plow and winch on it to plow my driveway, I have never plowed with an ATV but I hear they do a good job. I need to also find a service manual so I can make sure everything is working properly. I sure hope this model is realiable. Thxs, Keith

330 Miles? Was the thing collecting dust in the back of a barn?

Check your email - I left you a present

Thank You, that will come in handy.. One of the main reasons I bought it was the low miles. I'm looking forward to putting the plow on it and see what it can do.
