Default New Grizzly 700 engine noise, any idea?

I have a new 2009 Grizzly 700. There is a squeaking noise coming from the engine area. I can hear it best when I am sitting still with the engine iding. The sound is kind of like the pistons are too tight. Any idea if this is normal and what it might be?

That is odd! Never heard of that before! Did you check all you fluids?

Is the noise coming from the primary clutch area? I would put some miles on and see if it comes out of it... DOG

Default noise

First, I'd probably have it checked by a Yammie certified mechanic. If they says it's "nothing", then I would put some miles on it, and see what happens.
Better to have it break now, while it's under warranty, then to break later.

Yep, take it to the dealer, and if they say it is "nothing".... INSIST that they put it in writing on your work order. Don't leave the shop without a writeup of your complaint, and their response.

EDIT: Unless it's out of warranty already. If it is... well... good luck.

I did take the side panel off today. The noise is coming from the exhaust system. If I push pretty hard on the exhaust system the noise goes away. I tried to tighten all the bolts but none were loose. I called the Yamaha shop and they said to bring it in, which I will. Has anyone else had this problem - the exhaust system squeaks, but only after it gets hot?

My Rincon did that and i thought it was the tranny. I took it all off and cleaned the dirt and debris from where the shields make contact then bent those areas that are round that make contact with the exhaust a little more where they were tighter at those points and after i installed it, the sound was gone. It helped the clamps get a little tighter when i sprayed WD-40 on them before i reinstalled them. No biggie, just give yourself 45 minutes or an hour to throughly do all that and you shouldnt have anymore problems for a while.

If it's anything like the 660 Grizzly, the heat shield mounts will need to be replaced. 660 has rubber grommets that fit into holes on the heat shield and bolted down to the pipe. The rubber wears out and you get a light rattle usually at idle.

In your case with a new bike they may just be tight and need a few more heat cycles to loosen a bit.

must just be something squeaking from the engine movement while running and when it gets hot the exhaust expands enough to cause the noise...most likely something simple but being that new take it to the dealer should be on warranty, but it would prolly go away after putting some riding time on.
