ignition coil? trigger coil or pulse coil? lol the ign. coil is the one under front fender then the others are part of the stator, if you ign. is fine its most likely the stator pooped which can be tested in ohms.

I tested the continuity in the wires from the cdi and all were good.

id be willing to bet its your stator since its extremely common for warriors, Rickys and RMstator make good replacements, there really isnt any ways to test CDI's on these far as i know i just test everything else and leave the CDI last, they usually dont go bad but if the ign coil, stator and everything else works fine then ill consider it being screwed up, it says how to test the stator in the manual you gotta test certain pins on the connectors and if there not within the specs in ohms then its a bad stator.

I tested the stator and all is well, i called the local yamaha shop and they actually walked me through it. so its either in the wires, relays or cdi. so where do i go from here? thanks

hmm well if the ign. coil tests fine, stator tests fine and grounds, all wires in the harness are good, relays and fuses are fine then the CDI would basically be the only thing left, im not sure how to actually check to see if the CDI is bad i think i might have known at one time but i cant remember right now, theres like 3 relays i think under the left back fender, but if it turns over good and the neutral light comes on and everything most likely those relays are good, i dont wanna tell u your CDI is bad and you go buy one and its not the problem but it kinda does seem like its the CDI if everything else checks out fine, if you can borrow a friends CDI just to rule it out, theres only like 2 bolts and 2 or 3 connectors on it, real quick swap out, a dealership might even let you do it if they got one.
