25" to 26" tire change?
#1
Talked to the dealer I am buying a 700 Grizzly from about up grading the tires. It comes with 25x10 tires, he wants me to change to 26x11 when i up grade the tires. If the grizzly has a tendency to be tippy wont the increase from 25 to 26 make it worse?

Of course he wants your to buy 26" Tires from him... THEY COST MORE...
I highly doubt a 700 grizzly is tippy! My 450 grizzly wasn't tippy with it's stock 25" tires. I personally wouldn't spend my money at that Dealer! They seem like idiots! Why don't you buy the quad and ride it with the stock tires before shelling out another $400-500 to get new tires that are going to replace perfectly good tires..

To upgrade tires on a 700 is almost a necessity, if nothing else for better traction! The grizz can handle up to 27's without any major changes to the machine! With this said and depending on the tire of choice a good radial tire such as the Maxxis Bighorn can go a long way to making the "Tippyness" of the Grizz go away. One thing to remember with a tire such as the Bighorn is a size 25 is more like a 26 and a 26 is more like a 27 and so on. If after installing a big tire you feel like you need more stability put on a wheel spacer kit and ALL your problems will be solved.

i had decided i had nothing to loose by running the stock tires and changing them later, then when i mentioned changing tires he said they use the tires to refurbish used machines and would give me $50/tire so i told him to get me a price.
If the $50 only gets them down to what i can buy them for someplace else, i will run the stock ones, but if it truly saves me a significant amount of money i will change now.
I like the looks and what I have heard about the Maxxis bighorn and the itp xtr, I am thinking I will be using it for goose hunting in muddy fields makes me lean toward the XTR.
