Default Cheap Power Adders

I have a 2001 Yamaha Beartracker. I was happy with the performance until I got new tires. They are the same size as the old ones but much more aggressive and now it has trouble turning them in the mud. I know its only a 250 but My wife rides a Honda 250 and it doesnt have any problems.

The carb is clean and all the maint has been done. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get more power on a budget?

Thanks for the help.
