Red face 1988 yamaha big bear 350

alright, not sure if this is the right area. but im looking to get a yamaha big bear 350

now as you can see, its pretty old. is there anything generally wrong with these ? thye look pretty solid but the age kinda "urks" me i guess, only thing wrong with it is, the recoil broke off and needs a battery, other then that he says the engine is perfect ,

any help would be awesome thanks

I had a 89 350 Big Bear it had lots of rough miles but was always dependable, sold it to a friend 4 years ago who still uses to this day. I like the ATV but it was a bit to slow for gravel road riding.

here is a pic of it. I,d buy it back if the chance came up.

I have a 1987 a have used it hunting and riding and haven't done anything but change oil, a battery and tires. Most dependable atv I've seen.

Leaky engine output shaft oil seals are difficult to fix. Front prop shaft splines and universal joints can fail, and the splines on the rear axle, where it goes through the diff can fail. All these faults occur after high mileages so don't be put off, but check a used bike for them before you buy.
