Grizzly 700 opinions
#1
Hey guys new here. Im buying a grizzly 700 in a few months, and had some questions and looking for some criticism. Looking at ss108 on 26" zillas(knowing they actually measure 27"). Any opinions on this configuration. I ride alot of 70% trail and 30% everything else, but wanna know that when i get to a deep mudhole im gonna go through it no problem. Also will i need a clutch kit? Will i lose any power or speed with this setup? Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thx.

Do you run a clutch kit Dodge? Was wondering what some of the more popular brands might be.... a little extra low end tire spinning grunt (even without bigger tires) would't be bad thing!

700 has way enough power for 26" or 27". Only time you may need a clutch kit is if you plan to ride at altitude. 5000' and above. When going up in altitude you need to stiff'en the spring and light'en the fly-weights (basiclly what you are doing with a clutch kit). This allows for a higher rpm before engagement and maintains the rpm thru the power curve. The reason is the higher in elevation you go the more Hp you loose. Upto as much as 30-40% depending on elevation climb.

Hmmm, you needed to tune the carb with EFI? As for tires, I am a little out of my element on that one. I have used stock tires forever. I have seen guys get those real big monsters and well, if you spend a great deal of time in the mud, I guess you could use them, but I don't. I go around mud if I can. (I hate to wash mud off me and the machine) I have heard because of the sidewall stiffness, they can give you a fairly bumpy ride. They will not work in rocks. No personal experience though, so take it for what it is worth. I prefer to put my money into a good winch. The winch works every time... something that the tires may not.
