There is no compression adjustment on the stock Warrior shock; only rebound and of course, preload. CT Racing can upgrade your rear shock or merely rebuild to original specs.I would certainly have them do the upgrade if I were doing anything at all. It's about $240 as I recall. Check their web site.

Well, basically pre- loading the spring on the shock simply puts a load on the shock by compressing the spring to whatever the degree of tightening the rider selects. It is done primarily to compensate for a heavy rider or load. It has little or no real benefit as far as enhancing the ability of the shock with the possible exception of reducing bottoming out the shock. In slow to moderate trail riding, most people feel that adding preload tends to give a harsh ride without the damping effect obtained with better valving & compression. Similarly, I find that in really vigorous riding that the same added preload detracts from control and handling characteristics.
In my case I prefer running minimum,or no preload in the case of my Warrior with TCS front shocks together with ten clicks of rebound damping at the rear and moderate compression with heavier rebound damping at the rear of my Raptor, and minimum preload on the fronts, which have no rebound or compression adjustment.
As to the adjustment of preload at the rear, the lock nut must be loosened and the the adjustment ring can be turned..clockwise to add preload, counterclockwise to remove it. Unless you are exceptionally heavy, I'd hesitate to add preload for the reasons already described, but doing so isn't a big problem with a big pair of Channel Locks.
