the posts on the 1RL-91-ACA1211-8 starter assy is kinda funky and corroded so i'm gonna replace it anyway and clean the connector on the wiring harness.

other than that i've checked all but the rectifier which i'll have to wait until it cranks.

also have rcm exhaust sytem 1JA309303 because the owner before me decided to cut header off 6 inches from the exhaust port on cylinder head....lol. got to thinking no backpressure might keep it from cranking up as well plus it can't be good for the motor.

I still need to pull the neutral switch out and check it...would that keep it from cranking with start button?

I also have another wiring harness coming incase it checks out ok, if after the neutral switch or wiring harness doesn't fix it....i'm gonna get frustrated...lol

relay on order from Boats.net - New and Used Boats for Sale, Outboard Boat Motors, and Discount Outboard Boat Parts. shipping was lots cheaper. waiting on tracking number to see when it will come in...hopefully before weekend. Babbitsonline was gonna make me wait week and half to get part in...and charge me 18 dollars for shipping a 12 ounce item...wow.

ok guys, back to my problem...I charged the battery and now when i put a screw driver to connect the solenoid posts, you can hear a noise in the starter that sounds like it struggling to spin. Is it the starter or solenoid with the issue?

should fire right up after you get the starter and solenoid on.
