Default 1997 blaster problems.

I just recently bought a 1997 yamaha blaster and theres a problem with it. It doesn't start right up, but sometimes it does. Also I have to pull it by another fourwheeler to get it jump started. When we do get it running its like I cant push the throttle but for so far and then it bogs down so i can only and barely get into second gear? Is there anything I can do to fix this? The where the exhast gasket connects, i see smoke coming from there but idk....should I just buy a complete new exhaust w/ gasket? Please I really need help....this is my dream fourwheeler and i'm getting problems already ...... PLEASE HELP

How long was it sitting before you purchased it? Sounds like the carb needs to be cleaned

I would say get your carb cleaned, and maybe a new gasket?

Bogging out like you are describing could be from cracked or broken reeds, the starting issue also.
