It's all in the clutching and gearing.

If you put an 80 tooth rear sprocket on a raptor and a 30 tooth rear sprocket on a 400ex who do you think is going to win in a drag...the 400ex cuz it would take less turns of the front sprocket to make 1 revolution at the rear wheels.

ummm, no actually your wrong. The larger the rear sprocket, the more power to the ground, and less top end speed. And if you want to argue with me about that, then ask anyone in this forum. Larger rear sprockets and smaller front sprockets make for faster acceleration. And finally, a polaris 400 scrambler could not beat the 400ex anywhere. The automatic transmission is less efficient at transferring power to the ground than manual transmissions are. It is a fact, look at sports cars, they are faster with manual transmissions. And also, your quad weighs how much?

Dont waste your money on a 300ex or a 250ex if you spend another grand you could have the best quads 400ex,raptor or banshee. If you want real speed get one of them. If you think you cant handle it just go slow on the throttle at first.you'll do fine.

If you want reverse, handling, and some power, the 300ex is the best.
If you don't feel like wrestling during your rides, stay away from Polaris (sorry scramdaddy). They are waaay too heavy. My buddy has a 400 scram. I think he'll beat me in drag races now, but he still finds the quad is too heavy and big.
Warrior is good also, but probably doesn't handle as good as the 300ex (just a guess here).

Hey Lovley,
How bout riding around on the back of my Banshee with me? Or you can drive!!! Even with both of us on the Banshee, we will crush every one of the others quads mentioned and have way more fun doing it! ( quad riding of course!) Too bad im here in WYo where its hard to find a gal that likes to ride!

Duhwarriorman, mind reading my post before you reply!!! Does'nt it say somewhere in there "DRAG" not accelleration.

And I believe polaris's dual sencing torque converters along with the concentric drive give it a better power to ground ratio over a manual.

This could be the reason why "XPLOR" of the forums can stay in front his buddy "ZORRO" of the forums for 300yrds. Xplor rides a scrambler 400 4x4 and Zorro rides a Banshee 350 twin.

If you would like to ask them be my guest.

A scrambler beat a banshee? Now I know your full of crap! Look, Polaris quads are not high performance, they are not racing quads, and they are not that fast(unless they are falling off a cliff). There is a reason that no one races them.
And...a DRAG is a measure of ACCELERATION!!. And if you want to argue about your transmission, which is more effecient, rubber belts, or solid steel? If automatics were faster, then why don't any real sport quads have them? Face it, the only good thing that polaris makes is boat anchors.
