Default Timberwolf Cam timing

Ok, I have just acquired a head for my Timberwolf, I checked the valve sealing by pouring a little solvent down the ports, the exhaust valve was slightly leaking, so I took the cam and valve out and lapped the valve seat, now I cant remember which way the cam came out, lobes up or down, if I install it one way the valve gaps are tight the other way the valves gaps are loose.

So how do you set the timing if you installed a new cam, I dont want to bend the valves.
