Grizzly Problems.

I have installed a K&N kit from (Highlifter)with a Supertrap Exhaust.
It gives the bike super low end but craps out at mid-range and will not do over 35mph. I installed the new plug that came with the kit and the 160 jet and have tried several different carb settings (bottom screw) and metering jet. Also tried different number of baffles. The plug shows tan on the end when I shut it down and pulled it (killed it at crap out). At wits end and Highlifter doesn't have a clue (the rep told me that the main jet could be acessed from the slide side)so don't bother calling them for advise. Any suggestions??????

Dakota,
I have had the cutting out problem with my Yamaha Kodiak going up steep hills it would just die and sometimes on level ground it would cut out.
The fix is to adjust the float level what was happening was the float was bouncing up and flooding out the jets with a splash of gas. If you let is set and wait and run at idle the wet gas vaporizes and eventually clears itself out.
The other problem the dealer admitted is that sometimes there is mfg debris floating around and sometimes plugging one of the jets and this too will clear itself. Hope this helps.
