05 YFZ450 wont start without clutch
#1
Need help figuring out why I have to pull the clutch in, even in neutral, to start. I bought it this way and the guy I bought it from didnt know much about it. I pulled the front plastics and checked all the connections. At one point I tried a test start and it started with no clutch, so I figured I fixed some unknown connection issue. I put it back together and it went back to needing the clutch. I checked the wires again, but couldnt re-fix it... Any ideas. The neutral light does come on by the way. I havnt bought a service manual yet, so I dont have a wiring diagram to look at

this platform uses a clutch switch located in the clutch perch. it is a normally open two wire switch. if in gear the clutch switch is in affect, and not used when in neutral. most after market perches have no hole to install the factory switch... exp: ASV GYTR etc. so a rider just gets used to pulling the clutch in period...if the system does not function properly ck-switch, connectors, grounds, relay etc.the OEM book is great and has a great schematic... hope i was some help.
