my 97' warrior 350 wont turn over
#1
I have a 97' Yamaha warrior 350 that I was riding on some muddy trails..all the sudden lost all power (like when a battery dies)...bike would not turn over for nothing..had to be towed out of the woods
I checked all the typical things (I have a manual)..tried changing out spark plug..gas tank is full..battery is brand new and fully charged (12 ohm)took all the plastics off and made sure all connections were tight and used silicone to seal up connections..stator is testing at 497ohm and 297 ohm..I took the side cover off and checked the gears (no metal shaving or obvious teeth broken...bearing able to spin freely without any difficulty...oil was pretty dirty though)
In gear it will surge forward when the starter button is pressed..however in neutral all it will do is making a spinning sound in the motor
I am completely stumped here...if anyone has any ideas or has had similar experiences and figured out the problem...I would love to hear from ya
thanks in advance for any advice

thanks for the replies guys for all the replies
I took another look at the spark plug and there was no spark when cranking over..so I checked the wires and when i took the plug cap off...I was getting a strong ohm reading (cant remember the exact number..but it was right on with the manual for the secondary resistance test...primary also tested right on per the manual) on the wire...as soon as I put the cap back on....infinite 0 ohm
so hopefully it has been a bad plug cap assembly...nice and cheap fix (fingers crossed) I will be getting a replacement this week and I will let you know the outcome
thanks again everyone for the posts
