Default Reverse light blinking

I have a 08 400 Big Bear and the reverse light starts blinking when I go about 1/4 mile. When riding after awhile the motor will just die like it has water in the gas. I've drained the gas and put fresh in it so I know that's not the problem. If I shut it off and turn in back on it's fine for another 20 miles or so. Could a sensor be going bad? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could it be the cdi box something in that vicinity?

My son Raptor did that. it was the wires down by the shifter shorting. the quad thought it was in reverse. Find the reverse sensor and check the wires.

Thanks, I'll check that out and give it a shot. My dealer seems to think that there is a problem with the speedometer cable and the computer is throwing it into a limp mode. I just put a new cable on it. Maybey I'll try reinstalling it and see if that helps.

Does the speedo work accurately? I have the same quad and last summer when the speedo cable broke, the reverse light flashes. That is actually a light telling you that the quad is revving too high in neutral. Mine was sensing that the quad was in neutral (b/c speedo wasnt working) and then that it was idling high and not moving...You can get that same light to turn on by starting it and leaving the choke on for too long while it is warming up. Mine never went into limp mode though...I didnt know that the big bears even had a limp mode. I replaced the speedo cable and fixed the problem!

Another thought may be that the quad is sensing that the diff lock is on...I know that the rev override button is supposed to be pushed to allow long high rpms while diff lock is on to keep you from riding in diff lock...just a thought...keep us updated!

Well I took the speedometer off again last night and reinstalled it. Still no luck. The speedometer is working but after about 100' the light starts blinking again. I guess I'll just have to take it to the shop later this week. Thanks for all the help. Once the shop gets back to me on the problem I'll post what was up with it.
