Looks like I am going to be getting a Wolverine in the next week. What things should I make sure I ask about and what accessories should I buy for doing trail riding and some utility things. Gonna get a hitch for it, got a helmet from riding my dirt bike - what else?

Also - for those who bought a 2001 Wolverine - what did you pay? It looks like I have to pay 6% sales tax + about $600 "setup, destination, and shipping" type fees - this normal?

Thanks for any help you can provide as I get my new ATV !!

When I bought mine there was a winch included with it, which comes in handy for work, but I leave it off most of the time.
I also got them to throw in the hitch and ball and the plastic skid plate, which has stood up to loads of abuse.
I also bought the kelvar cv boot protectors.
If you don't like to get dirty, get the extra mud guards, or make your own. I can't look at mud without getting covered in it.
Have fun!

Congrats on your new Wolverine!

If I was to buy a stock Wolverine I would definately look at getting some skid plates because they don't come standard with the Wolv.
Also I would eventually look into getting 25" tires with 4 ply rating. It'll give you better ground clearance and there a tougher tire to puncture compared to the 2ply 23" stockers. Depends on what type of riding your planning on doing.. You can see in my pics what I've done with mine for winter riding but its going to be shedding some accessories for the summer..

Have fun with your new ATV!

provench,
I just bought my Wolverine in December. I got $700 off the price because I bought a green one. I don't know why they were running the special...the green ones are better anyway.
I trail ride so I bought a pack for the rear rack. I plan on buying skid plates before summer. If you don't get mud flaps, make sure you have a good set of boots because you will have a pile of mud on your feet.

A good purchase:Sadly I sold mine and got a 500 scrambler from polaris.Because I dont do utility Im just strictly a sport rider, but if I could reccomend some add ons epending on how strong your arms are I would reccomend a locker for the front hubs if you do alot of mud rideing a set of super swampers aswell and you'll be king of any mud pit or tricky trail, have fun.
