raptor " transmission" update
#1
My raptor now resides at my local dealer, not shure if the tranny parts will be in next week or the end of may. yamaha does not even know. But the reason for this post is, the dealer asked me if I put paddle tires on my quad. "YESS". He said that the two things tearing up second gear is, paddle tires and landing from a jump with the throttle pegged. Can anyone see a relationship between theese two things. Besides one of them will get you a ride in a helicopter.

Apparently the new gear is made of better metal(unobtainium or something, ha). It is not the teeth going away it is the three prongs that engage into the side of the gear. I would hate to think I'll have to run low to no paddles to keep this tender tranny happy.

Yes they are still covering it, and if I understood them correctly they will cover it indefinatly. It will be considered a ongoing problem. That makes me feel better, considering that my warranty expired while it is in the shop.

I would think you would have a good case to present to them, I am saving all posts that are relating to rap tranny probs.
The only thing I can see a problem with is that apparently someone has been inside your motor, if it has been ported and pollished. My bike has all bolt ons at this point.
