2004 Big Bear Rear Shock Bad?
I have a 2004 Big Bear 400 4WD. The rear shock will no longer support a heavy load on the rear rack, squats in the rear end under load, and seems to bottom out the shock when loaded heavy.
Is the shock bad? Do you rebuild or replace them? How much for a good heavy duty shock?
Thanks, Dave

The spring generally holds the load not the shock. How much of a load are you putting on the back end of it?
You could check with the aftermarket shock companies like Elka, works, etc. and they can build you a heavier duty shock and spring combo but your going to pay good money for it. Your other option is to have your existing shock revalved and sprung for a heavier weight, this will be cheaper than having a new one but still more expensive than buying a new OEM shock.
