I recently purchased a 2000 Yamaha bear tracker and it runs great. However, I thought the electric start went out. You push the button and you hear the starter engage, but it doesn't turn the motor over... it sounds like it is just spinning. I purchased a new starter and just installed it. Same thing, it turns on but doesn't catch the flywheel.

So anyone ever experience this? It this beyond a novice repair?
