Just got back from riding out in the desert near 67th ave and Happy Valley rd. I was out there for an hour or so when a Peoria PD truck comes along and pulls me over. A new city code (sec 13-25) prohibits any vehicle, dune buggy, quad, 4x4 truck, etc., from riding on any vacant, unimproved, property. They give one warning then will be arresting people and impounding your ride. What a bunch of BS. This closes down about 3/4 of the riding areas in the west valley.

Try 130th. ave. and Bell rd. North side of the street just past the Riverboat and bridge. Look for a sign marked Paintball Arena. Much better riding area. No police. I think it's actually in Surprise. Lot's of people out there. Better riding area.

I'll check out the 130th and Bell location, not too far from home. Is it mostly a race area or are there trails for recreational riding? Have you ever looked at that area between 115th Ave and Camelback and Glendale Ave on the North? It's in the riverbed and has all kinds of concrete barriers which have now been moved. Don't know if this is a legal riding area or not, but the law enforcement people have seemed to give up on it. All kinds of riders there every weekend.

Thanks for your input on local riding areas! There are also lots of desert trails around the perimiter of the White Tank Mountain Park. Access them from Buckeye.

How does 130th and Bell compare to Sycamore Creek?

I drag race at 107th and camel back at one time there was a water truck , grader, tower, and food stand. As for 67th and happy valley or "Gravel Pits ive had no probs. Sycamore Creek is where a lot of people are going and drag racing lotz of people.....

It doesn't compare to Sycamore. But I live at 83rd. ave. and Bethany so it's a lot closer. I used to ride all the time at 107th. and Camelback until they closed it. Maybe I'll cruise by there this weekend to see if it's been reopened. I hope it has. It's only 10 minutes from my house.
