I am still trying to get my hands on a raptor and i am getting closer than ever. I am curious to know the dealer cost. I would also like to know how you guys are getting them under 6499 out the door? Due to the demand on these are so high. I am just amazed to hear that someone is not paying the piper in full. If you get my meaning! I am looking at 7000 with tax and the bull of prep included. So what is the secret squirrel handshake that I have to learn to get these great deals?

Thats what I have been wondering too. While i was getting some parts at the local Yamaha stealership. I asked one of the sales guys about the price of Raptors. He said 7200 ou the door they had 2 blues and a black and white one. That was in South Bend Indiana at North End Cycle. Another place I stopped in was D&D cycle in Columbia City Indiana I think they said 6900 out the door. They had a nice srx700 sled leftover that I was more interested in though.

i just paid 6850.00 out the door,no tax. That was after waiting 6 weeks on it. They were selling a clean used one for 6700.00. Did not even bother to haggle with them over the price. First time that i have ever paid list price plus on anything.I really wanted it, would have probably paid a little more if i had to. Could not be happier with my choice.

I went to the Yamaha web site (www.yamaha.com), and used the dealer locator to find all of the dealers within 200 miles of me. I started calling them until I found one that would sell me one at list ($6499) out the door, no prep, or any other addons. Since I am going just over the border to another state, I don't have to pay tax either. I was amazed at the prices some of them were asking. If I wanted to pay $220 prep, and sales tax, I could a blue one today, but I decided to drive 200 miles to save $550.
Good luck,

Madmike, The only way to get one out the door for cheaper is to buy it out of state and then you dont have to pay sales tax. I am curently selling my raptor and I will give you a slaming deal on it and I'm in Pa so we are fairly close western Pa. I will sell you mine for $5600 it is used but needs nothing and its out of state so no sales tax and freight and set up etc... YOU can e-mail me if your interested at xtreme165@hotmail.com

xtreme165,

If you don't mind me asking, why are you selling your machine?

Just sold mine last week for $6100. It was in showroom condition with not one scratch on it. I had a bunch of calls on it, but everyone said the dealers were selling them for $6300-6400 out the door. Finally had to come off my price and take the $6100. The 6 month factory warranty expired 2 days before I sold it, so that was another reason I couldn't get more $.

The Raptor is a great machine, but I have been spoiled by the Banshee. We ride almost exclusively on sand dunes and the Banshee rules in those conditions. I may buy a used 300ex or 400ex to have as a spare bike and use in the woods occasionally.

Dealer Invoice (Includes freight) is $5,492.
Also, the dealer gets a bonus direct from Yamaha of $194.60 for each Raptor sale or so I've heard.
