HI Everyone,
I'm new so bear with me. I have a 1999 Yamaha Grizzly 4wd. When I punch the starter button I hear a loud click but won't turn over. If I hook jumper cables to the starter and directly to the battery it starts right up. Is this a starter module problem or is something wired wrong? I changed the battery thinking that was the problem but 100 bucks later realize that wasn't it.
Help please!

It will be the solenoid, but just to be sure, put a test lamp between the battery negative and the solenoid, one post should light all the time, the other should light when you press the starter button (with the ignition on). If it doesn’t, check the small leads to the solenoid, one will be earthed and the other live when you press the starter button. Or possibly the other way round, depending on how the button is wired. If the wires to the solenoid are OK then it is definitely a solenoid problem. If the solenoid tests out OK it could be a bad earth on the battery lead.
