Hello All,
I was thinking of buying another atv for my wife. She does not like mud, water and snow.
She will only go on dirt (dry) trails.
So I have decided to get a Kodiak 4X2 2000 model.
The dealer is asking $4199.00 + tax.
Is this a good price?????
I already know the history on the 2000 models with the water pump and belt slipping.
Whats your opinion??
Thanks

Personally I think ALL atvs are highly overpriced. But respectively speaking, that sounds like a competitive price.

Just something to consider though. Even though your wife will NOT mud with you, think about this. It might be nice to have the Kodiak 4wd just in case you want to go mudding (and of course your wife doesn't) and you have a buddy that doesn't have a quad that you wouldn't mind letting them ride hers since you will be there with them.

I bring this up because my wife will only ride hard pack. And eventually I will get another quad, one for her. But it will also be a quad that I can let others ride when I want to go riding, need a riding partner. Well, you get the picture. Just check all your options.

My wife will go just about anywhere we go and she's able to keep up to,but even so ,you should let her ride 4x4 just in case the hard pack becomes a little more soft!!and the buddy riding thing dont hurt none as well.

I have not had any problem with my 2000 kodiak in respect to belt slippage or the water pump and I feel the 2WD will go well. The price sounds OK, but think about the 4WD. I agree with the other guys.
