Default help with big bear 400 4x4 2000 model

I have a 2000 model Yamaha Big Bear 400. It is all time 4 wheel drive. I need an aluminum housing for the rear end as well as all the bearings and seals for that particular rear end housing. Where can I find those at?

The manual didn't say anything about how to open the aluminum rear end housing. Please help.

I assume you are referring to the bevel gear housing on the rear axle, often called the "differential" (though it isn't). You may get a used one from a breaker or, I would think the parts will still be available from Yamaha agents. Yamaha kept changing rear axles in the late 90s so be sure you get the right one. It could be cheaper to buy a whole unit than the parts. Aftermarket kits of bearings and seals are available, but you would still need to go to Yamaha for the housing.
