Yamaha 200 won't start?!?!?
I have a 1991 Yamaha Moto 4. I hadn't started it for about 18 months. Bought a new carb and everything. Try to start it, and it cranks and tries. It's getting a spark, getting fuel and everything. I even sprayed starting fluid and still won't even run? One thing is that there is like no pressure on the thumb throttle, don't know if that does anything. Any ideas? Thanks for reading!

What size moto 4? If it is getting fuel and spark, then you need spark at the right time and compression for it to run. I would check your valve clearances, compression, and timing.
No pressure on the throttle shouldnt keep it from running, but that sounds like the throttle cable is not hooked up correctly.

And with no pressure on the throttle, I was wondering if that would affect the needle in the carb at all. Do you know if there is any safety things about the electric hookups or anything? I don't have the battery hooked up to the actual start button itself( wire corroded.) would it be worth it to push start it maybe? Or not worth the time? Don't know if there is any safety precautions on the quad. Sorry, don't know a lot about atvs so any advice is good advice to me. Thanks again.

This is a 2 stroke engine,no valves. Best thing to have if you're going to keep it is a manual. Here's a free one.http://rapidshare.com/files/29745240...e%20Manual.pdf
