Default 1989 350 moto 4 not starting

Hello all.
I just started having trouble starting my ATV. When trying to get it running I turn the key, Green neutral light comes on, I switch the red switch on the handle to run, then push button to start... I get nothing but a clicking noise.

I replaced the starter relay and it does the same thing when trying to start, that darn clicking noise.

I replaced the battery, still has the same noise

I recently grounded the spark plug to the block and tried to start to check the spark, it is very limited to nothing at all.

What do you think is the problem?

Your starter brushes are probably ready for replacement. Get a 12 volt test bulb and connect it between the starter live terminal and earth. If the bulb lights and the motor doesn't turn when you press the starter button you have a bad starter, either a new starter, or probably just brushes, will cure it.

This was my thought as well. Keep us posted on what you find out. Does your 350 have a pull start? The 225 I just bought has a pull start access under the left cover; you wrap a pull cord around it and can pull start.

Have you tried charging the battery then try to start it? If it turns over or starts, then you may have charging issues. Bad regulator, stator, etc. As I mentioned to the one with the Moto4. Get the service manual to be able to trace circuits. The manual also has troubleshooting tips.

When you press the button, one click on the solenoid is a faulty starter or solenoid, buzzing is the battery flat or a bad connection on one of the main wires, battery, solenoid, earth.

Can you pull start it? My '88 has a pull start, yours should as well.
