I have a 1988 Yamaha big bear 350 and it make a chunk noise when I turn it off
Also when I start it it sometimes makes a banging noise repeatedly in rapid succession does anyone know what that is or how to fix it ? Thanks

 

Sounds like the starter clutch one way bearing and gear is very badly worn an needs replaced

Same exact thing on a 250 timberwolf and a new Starter Clutch fixed it for me.
