Just picked up new project - 2000 wolverine
Well I've been lookin for a while specifically for a wolverine and finally found one reasonably priced. Got this 2000 for $1400. Needs a little work; seat recovered, clutch adjusted, front brake work, and a general tune up, but otherwise it's all there and runs pretty good. I was amazed at how well these hold their value. Either that or people on Craigslist are just out of their minds. I lost count of how many late 90's Wolverines and kodiaks were on there for $2500-3500! I wanted a wolverine just because I remember as a teenager in the late 90's seeing these things wrecked, rolled, sunk, and beaten relentlessly and never missin a beat. Any pointers what to check for while I'm doin the basic service?

The reliable 348 motor has been in many ATVs for a very long time, like the Warriors, Big Bears, Bruins, and current Grizzlies and Raptors.
What sets the 350 Wolverine apart is it still holds the crown as being the lightest 4x4 ATV ever made. It was even lighter then the 250cc 4x4s like the Yamaha Timberwolf. 2000 Yamaha Wolverine ATVs
Their only flaw was they were only full time 4x4 and were geared rather tall vs say a 350 Bruin ,Kodiak or Big Bear but that's why they also had a faster top end.
They were even lighter then 2wd 350s 2000 Yamaha Wolverine ATVs and http://www.atvreviewnetwork.com/enth...e2=21589&go=Go
They never made a lighter 4x4 ATV ever since ,of any brand.
besides the obvious stuff just make sure the front and rear diffs have good gear oil.
