Rider down! Friend of mine hurt in quad accident!

I belive the wheelie incident was stupid but some peopel are making comments about riding on pavment and say it is not dangerous. Yes, I admit on public roads it is not that safe but neither is anyone who has street draged there car. Any yes i did it years ago in my 5.0L Mustang. But, I get so pissed when people quads can't ride on pavment especially because of the solid axle. When you are doing strait line drag races it is safer that MX or TT. I rade trails and play with some MX tracks but I love drag racing because I live near the Milan Dragway and we also have Sand drags. When I race on pavment we race in a IHRA sanctioned environment so that is very safe. But, I admit that I have to hit a nearbye paved road to test some mods that are very low in traffic volume and I am 29 also.
Hey No2strokeBS are you taken the Raptor to the track this Friday, if so let us know how you did.

I really didn't want to read the original post, but curiosity....
Anyway, here are my two short comments:
1) Been there, done that, and as you get older and hurt more, you end up being wiser and more careful if you don't die first. Everyone here should learn the lessons - stupid hurts - a training course can't teach a person to actually use their brains either.
2) You young people attempting to do things to impress or beat someone else can just as easily beat them to the hospital or grave. Yeah, we'll all be really impressed with your riding skills as you tell us about them from a wheelchair (that you'll never get out of).
God gave everyone a brain, use it. Do I sound like I'm preaching? Good. That's the point.
BTW - your friend was very lucky in getting hurt only as bad as he did...

Muddy I have a question do they report all atv accidents to the safety board with a helment or without? I do wear a helment when I ride my atv but do NOT wear one when I ride my street bike thats my choice. When the news covers a accident about a motorcyclist with no helment and they die they say thats what the person died from but if he had a helment on and he dies they say nothing, same thing with seatbelts in autos. Why is that?
