Question 10t front sprocket on yamaha breeze -03?

hi! from what I can find the stock sprockets on the Breeze are 12t front, 32t rear. anyone have any experience changing the front sprocket on the breeze? I need more bottom and dont need any speed. I just bought a trailer that maybe is gonna be too heavy. 124kg. and Im 100kg. is this impossible or is it worth a try. i mean with a little load in the trailer i will reach 300kg pretty fast..

what will the change to a 10t frontsprocket do? will it harm the engine or the belt or anything? other goods and bads?

Im gonna use it att our summerhouse pulling thing up a mid steap hill. small roads but not in the forrest.

sorry for my english!

Well, going from a 12t to 10t is really going to lower the gearing. Smaller front sprockets like that can cause excessive chain wear because it now has a tighter turn to make. 10 should still be fine, I doubt that little guy is running a 520 chain like the bigger quads anyway. It sounds like you may be working the engine pretty good. Just watch it for overheating and give it a chance to cool off if need be. When you notice a loss of power, you have already overdone it. Then again, it may handle it just fine.

Be careful out there, those little quads dont have a lot of weight or width. Hauling a heavy load in slippery conditions can get hairy.

We had a customer that brought a Breeze in and wanted a trailer hitch as his Grandfather had given him a Trailer, we contacted the Yam dealer who said "don't do it, the Breeze has a weak gearbox and won't take the extra strain."

ok, that hurt.

so Im gonna change the sprocket anyway. does anyone know what tools I need? sizes? in the repair manual it says that the drive sprocket is M20 x 1,5. but I dont understand what that means.. how big is the nut? and what socket size?

what kind of socket wrench should I use, inches or mm?

M20 is the nut size, it is metric.
