Default HELP Please!! 2003 Kodiak 450 won't start...

I have a 2003 Yamaha Kodiak 450 that won't start. I have switch the spark plug. It is getting a spark when I test on atv. I have gas and the kill switch is not engaged. I was getting the clicking noise, so I connected jumper cables from the truck to the 4 wheeler. It is trying to start, but it seems like it isn't getting gas or something. I don't leave gas in the carb when it sits. Any thoughts?

Thank you!!

Well, I just went back into the gargage and turned the petcock to reserve and it fired right up. So I am thinking it need to get a new petcock.

Or it was too low on fuel to run in the "on" position.

Easy to check...simply turn petcock off, remove fuel line from carb, place fuel line into a glass cup ( or whatever you want to use ), turn the fuel on....see how it flows in the "on" position and then.....on the "reserve" position.

I know its a fuel system thing, because if theres spark then its not ignition or nothing. Instead it reverts to the fuel system.

If it's the fuel valve stopped up,you can either remove it and blow it out or replace the thing for 7 bucks.2003 2006 Yamaha Kodiak 450 YFM450 ATV Quad Fuel Gas Petcock Valve Switch Pump | eBay
