timberwolf stator
#1
I have a 1998 timberwolf 250. When it was shut off last time it was running. Now it has no fire. I've been checking things but now am to the stator. when I opened the side cover I found the stator had some oil on it and some in the side cover. Is it supposed to have oil in the side cover and if so how much? Can't find anything about it in the manual. No, I am not a mechanic. Any help will be appreciated.

Most motorcycle and quad alternators run in oil. Also most of the "big four" makers quads will run OK with a burnt out stator, until the battery goes flat. If you have the electrical skills to test the components, get a manual and go through the electrical checks.

The only oil required is the correct viscosity and quantity engine oil. This quantity is most likely stamped into the engine case near the oil fill hole.
