If that's the case,if a keeper has jumped and the spring is up,then it's easier to just go ahead and pull the head and remove the valves to check for possible damaged,bent or worn valves. Plus with it off a good reason to just go ahead and do a valve grinding or lapping in valves along with new valve guide seals.

I don't know if I know enough about engines to do that. I did a search on "nylon rope valve piston spark plug" and found posts of rope stuck inside the the engine. Yikes! I'm a little scared.

If in doubt take it to a shop. Should be that much to check it out or to adjust the valve clearance if that's all there is to it..

The rope is just to check the keeper. If it has slipped then the head needs to come off to find out why it slipped.
