Default Badgers!! - 2ea Moto4 80 rebuilds

Hello!
I figured I would start a tread on our two Badgers

1984 Moto4 80
1989 Moto4 80

I bought both bikes not running, brought them home and really fixed them up. The 1989 needed ALOT of work, the 1984 basically needed a valve adjustment and rings, but I went through the whole bike anyways.

My 7 year old son rides the blue 1984, this is his quad right now, however I am rebuilding a Suzzuki LT80 I hope he will like better (suspension) and then these will both be for sale/guest bikes.
I have a 7 year old grandson and a 4 year old granddaughter as well, so we have been building mini quads!!!

The Blue bike was well taken care of by previous owner, but had a no start condition. I took a chance on it and was lucky enough it only needed a valve adjustment to run right.
Then I rebuilt the carb, the front and rear brakes and installed a new top end (it needed rings)
Bike has been getting upgrades ever since, twist throttle, cone Air filter, and more

The red bike was rough. It got:
All new bearings in rear axle
new rear brake shoes
re packed ring and pinion
new shift lever (in transmission)
new shift arm (foot peg)
new transmission gasket
New front brake shoes and wheel bearings
Stator rebuilt, new PTO side gasket
new top end & gaskets
carb from a late model Yami 80, rebuilt
cone air filter
tie rods
front tires
better seat
custom shaved plastics
valve adjustment
and more

Both of these things run perfectly
I love the simplicity of them and the shaft drive. YMF80 is an excellent engine!!
Both of these have 4 gears, unlike the later models with 3 speeds.

Best bike for learning on IMO
I will continue to post, the blue one is getting a plastic restoration pretty soon
the red one is for sale so I can justify my new habit
