Default Where to find the vin number for Yamaha Timberwolf

I have a used Timberwolf the only numbers found were stamped on the engine were 1500cm3
Is this a 250 or 230?
Where is the serial number located to find the make and model?

150cm3 would make it a 150cc. On most Yams the frame number is on the lower frame tube in front of the LH footrest, but I have never found it there yet. Dealers seem to know all they need for parts, from the code on a white sticker on the frame, under the seat.

The 1500cm3 is the metric amount of oil that engine uses.

See if this video helps find the vin..

Looks like I was right about the VIN, why can I never find it there? Wrong on the 1500cm3, I think Yamaha do cast the cylinder size on the base of the cylinder though.

Technically it is a 229cc but Yamaha calls it a 250cc. Same displacement as the Honda Recon, which is also called a 250. 1500cm3(1.5L), that doesn't sound like quite enough oil. Generally oil is sold in U.S. quarts, which is slightly less than a liter. I don't think I've seen any full-size quad that required less than 2 quarts. Most take more than that.

Yea.. engine size is normally on the cylinder somewhere, the oil amount is by the fill/dip stick hole. Atleast thats how my Timberwolf,BearTracker and Wolverine are.

Manual page attached from T-wolfs manual..
