Tire Recommendations for 2003 Yamaha Grizzly 660
I recently bought a used 2003 Yamaha Grizzly 660, 4x4 with auto transmission. It came with oversized tires and rims and the original stock rims. I don't need the oversized tires and the added stress they put on the suspension system. I'll be riding the Grizzly to get to and from the woods for hunting. I will be driving about 3 miles of pavement one way. Any recommendations for a good tire in the original 25x8-12 and 25x10-12 sizes?
Thanks!

I put Outlaw MST's on my Arctic Cat 700. MST stands for Mud, Snow and Trail. So far they have been awesome, haven't tried snow yet, but I drive all winter. Nice quiet ride on the trail, really never had to use 4x4 yet in light mud, and they seem to wear great. I even tried em on my Arctic Cat 400, they were really good on the road. I actually got it to 60 mph on asphalt. Steady as a rock, I put Counter-Act balancing beads in. Could have explained the smoothness. Those ar 27", but they are available in most sizes. 70? Got me beat by 4 years, I'm waiting to hit the "Golden Years" hehe

The Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 would be a good fit for you and what you want. Lots of Grizzly guys riding Bighorn 2.0 or originals. Here are the 2.0 Bighorn 2.0 | Maxxis Tires USA
Your bike could also easily handle those tires in a 26" too.

Itp mudlite ats are a good overall tire. I have those on my Brute Force and they wear well. I do some pavement riding myself but they do well in mud too. Only at very slow speeds on hard packed surface do you notice they are a mud tire, its hard to completely eliminate the slow speed vibration of even semi-aggressive tires. Its not bad but you will feel it. They are a very lightweight tire as well, only slightly heavier than the crappy stock tires that come on most machines.

I just ordered 4 26x9-12 Artrax CTX Radial tires for my 2003 Yamaha Grizzly 660. I'm looking forward to receiving them and in installing them on my Grizzly in place of the GBC Gator 28x10-12 and 28x12-12s that were installed on it when I bought it. Great looking tires and all of the reviews I've read on it have been great. The Maxxis Bighorns cost a good bit more, even online, than I'm willing to pay.

Yeah, they cost a bit more but last a lot of miles. Same thing merryman alluded to about wearing hard. The end result is since they last so long, they are a very good tire to go with but the upfront cost might be a bit more than some other sets.
