Default 2003 Kodiak 450 SRA axle

Does anyone know what other bikes have the same rear straight axle as the 2003 Kodiak 450.Everyone says something different. Is it possible that the rear differential is still good altough the splines on the axle are stripped.I checked the diff splines and they still look ok.Put another Yamaha axle in it out of something else(not long enough but splines line up) and it seems good.

It is possible, something else may fit, I recently fitted a new axle to a 4WD Timberwoolf and found, apart from slightly different RH spline and axle length, an old Bruin axle was the same. We got a new axle made for the 250, less than half the price Yamaha wanted for one. They measured the crownwheel splines too, and cut the new ones to fit it.

Thanks for the reply.Hopefully someone else will chime in with specific year and model of what may fit; Hate to order one on Ebay and end up with the wrong axle

It is difficult, I went down the Ebay route for a Big Bear and got the wrong axle. If you check the part number for your axle, and the one for the axle of whatever model/year you were thinking of buying, via those on-line parts books, it should tell you if they are the same.
