Check the obvious like water in the air box/filter,water around the plug cap and spark plug. Plus wouldn't hurt to pull electrical connections and use some electrical grease. Can't remember on the old Blaster, but stator wires and connections to the cdi, plus possible moisure in the stator area itself.

Typically Blasters are quite resistant to water. I ride mine across deep water and float it when the water is over 30" deep. A big problem is if the top of the air breather is off and it sucks muddy water into the intake. This will damage the reeds and scuff the cylinder, losing compression and power.
