carburator removal

Default carburator removal

2003 Yamaha big bear 400,
how do i disconnect the throttle cable?

Remove the black plastic cover on the side of the carb (1 phillips screw) you will then see the quadrant lever with cable wrapped around it and a barrel nipple on the end. push throttle to full, stop the quadrant from moving back with one finger, and the cable goes slack, when you let pressure off the throttle lever. unhook the cable from the quadrant, and unhook the nipple. Slacken the adjuster locknut on the outer cable and unscrew the adjuster from the carb body.
