Question Effects of Cutting a Wire. Red Wire Removal

Hi, I think my other post is under review so I'll be deleting that when It's posted. I was facing issues with my Rappy where it wouldn't start, specifically no spark. The issue was a lot more simple than I had anticipated, no need for a new ICM!! For me however the fix is temporary though, I can't live with cut wires or half fixes! Until then I would like to know that importance of this wire. What is the wire? About time I tell you! It is the red wire after the stator, I got the idea to cut it here, you can see what wire I was told to cut:
. i can see my lights flashing to the revs of my engine still, so it shouldn't effect power delivery. I believe this wire has something to do with reverse, so it can't start in reverse. Are there any long time effects of having this wire cut or any negative effects at all? As for now it's actually working, and it's exciting knowing my engine isn't dead!
