I want to buy a new quad for my son that my wife can ride also. I can afford around $4000.00 at this time. (I would love to buy another Kodiak but can't right now.)I'm sure it will have to be a 2 WD and an auto clutch with shaft drive. I would like to stick with Yamaha if possible as I have had good expierences with them so far but still will look at others. I was thinking of something like a Beartracker,Timberwolf,Honda Recon type Quad. A Blaster is in the price range but not what my wife wants to drive but my son would love it! Any suggestions?

i'd say a yamaha warrior 350 of course, but it is manual clutch. The warrior is the most reliable bike ive ever owned. it would make your son smile until his face hurts =)

RIDE 4 EVER

i think he would like a recon or a 250 ex they seem like the ones that would fit him they're easy to drive the recon can do some tough work to (i've seen with my own eyes) suprisingly because it is only a 250 those two would be good and so would a blaster but if your wife doesn't want that then i geuss not

I'd go with the 250ex, those things look pretty tough and look like they'll last a long time.

I also think the Honda 250EX would be great. Auto clutch\with a 5 speed, reverse, electric start. My wife test drove one at a dealer and lifted the front end in the air with the first 3 gears. Shaft drive so less maintenance for you also. The dealer gave me a out the door price of 3800. I checked with a few other dealers and they could only let it go for 4100.
Hope this helps,
Labs

I looked at the Recon and the 220 Bayou. I went with the 220 and am very happy with it. My 12 year old daughter loves it and I rode it all day Sat. and had a blast with it. $2800 plus tax.
