Default head gasket is bubbling.

93 250 rwd timberwolf. i am getting some compression leaking out of the head here. i can see bubbles, 1 small bubble every 30 seconds or so.

i tested the 5mm hex bolt and they appear tight.

am i correct that this is a bad condition to run the quad with and i need to pull the head off and install fresh gasket?

i did read in my 250 manual that the engine doesnt need to come out to pull the head off. anybody confirm?

Never had the head off a 250 Yam, but it won't be held on with 5mm bolts. In theory a leaking head gasket on an air cooled engine will slowly burn the cylinder and head surfaces so is better repaired sooner than later, you also loose some power. I have done hundreds of top end rebuilds on quads and never needed to take the engine out to do it, I would be very surprised if you had to on a Timberwolf.
