19__ Warrior for $500 Help!!!!
#1
I just bought a Warrior for my son for $500, is that a decent price considering I unloaed it and road it around the yard? Any way I don't have a clue what year it is, I do know that all warriors are about the same but....
Also after cleaning much gunk out of the carb it runs much better but stumbles on WOT at idle, any clues? My sportsman doesn't have a chain (imagine that) anyway is there anyway to salvage a chain with frozen links? Thanks for the help.

You might clean the airfilter, it might not be letting enough airthrough, also just go to www.rockymountainatv.com and order a chain. I think the cheapest ones are about 15 bucks, not to bad at all.

If you didnt already, Completely disassemble the carb and then clean it, It is amazing what the smallest amount of varnish will do, The jets and needle especially, Somtimes it is best to let is soak overnite in bucket of carb cleaner to loosen everything up. As for the chain just do the same, soak it overnite in some clean 10w30 and if that doesnt do it pop for one of the $20 chains, There cheap but will probably last st least a year or so.

87' & 88' warriors had their headlights mounted down between the tips of the front fenders. 89's and up had the headlights up close to the handlebars, and sometime around 93'? the went to round headlights. There should be a tag on the frame rail(look under the front fenders) that has it's date of manufacture,... i,e, my 2000 was built in nov. of 99. Or take the serial # (stamped into the lower frame rail, left side, under motor) to a yamaha dealer and they can tell you what year it is. Buy a good quality chain and sprockets, cheap'os constantly stretch, or worse break and leave you stranded, or worse break and take out the engine case.
