Default Solenoid just clicks, engine starts with battery booster

I've read a lot about engine starters but I'm afraid my experience is limited. My ATV battery is fully charged (from the trickle charger) and it looks like it's producing 12 volts, although I'm using an analog multimeter so it's hard to get an exact reading. When I start the engine, the solenoid just clicks very quickly but the engine doesn't turn over. I hooked up my battery car starter and the engine turns over. Should I start by replacing the battery and/or the solenoid?

I'm also pulling the ATV out of cold storage so feel free to just tell me to park it in the sun and let everything warm up first!

Need a serious check of your battery. Battery voltage is as follows.. 12.6 and above is full charge
12.0 is an extremely low battery, ...11.5 is a dead battery! Also load test the battery at a battery test place. Even though the battery may show a good charge, it can drop below 11.0 when trying to start.
This usually means a dead or shorted battery cell and needs to be replaced.

Go with the new battery. The clicking solenoid is another case for the battery is low.
