I believe I have an aftermarket Caltric carburetor, and as you can see in the picture (1), it has a hose coming out of that specific part. Where does that connect to? Also, there is a hose coming from my rear right brake that isn't connected to anything. It also has gunk in it. I don't know what to do, help would be appreciated. There are a few other issues that I need help with. My ATV can go 25 MPH, when I press further on the throttle, it sputters, if I push all the way, I can go to 40 MPH but it sputters and loses power very briefly. (So, if 50% throttle is 25 MPH, from 50% to 75% it will sputter and stay from 25-30 MPH. but from 75% to 100%, it will go up to 40 MPH, and sputter every now and then. When I slow down I also have to push and release the throttle as it slows down to keep it from losing power. It runs perfectly fine otherwise.) And also, on my old carb, it had two electrical wires connecting to the bottom of the carb. On my new one, it doesn't have any connectors to plug those wires in. Does that matter in any way? Thanks! The red line is covering the hose, as you can't see where it connects and travels to otherwise.
(The rear light is also aftermarket.)
Breather pipes, both of them, usually end somewhere beside the fuel tank. Ends should point slightly downwards so rain can't get in. Your red "box" also covers the choke cable fitting, but I assume you were not referring to that. The wires would be for a carb heater, and how useful it is depends on how cold it gets where you live. The spluttering points to your new carb not being set quite right, not sure if the main jet needle is adjustable. Fit a new plug in case it is that, and check the colour of the old one, black nose rich, white weak, light brown, OK. If it is weak or rich and the needle in the dashpot isn't adjustable, fit the main jet from the old carb and see how you go.
